# Settings

> Omni Desktop Settings are about the app and this computer: your account, the device, trusted folders, shell and files, computer control, notifications, the app version and your xpander address.

Open Settings with **Cmd+,** or from the menu bar icon. Settings in the app are about the app and this computer. Everything about your organization (members, billing, API keys, policies) opens in your browser from **Profile** > **More settings**, so each setting has one place.

## Account

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Profile** | Your name and photo. **More settings** opens your organization's settings in your browser. |
| **Appearance** | Light or dark theme. |

## This Mac

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Device** | **Name**: how this computer appears to you and your admins; it starts as the computer's own name. **Device ID** and **Connection**: this computer's id and its connection to your xpander. **Forget this laptop** removes it from your organization, clears its trusted folders and signs you out. Nothing on disk is deleted; signing in again registers it as a new device. |
| **Trusted folders** | The folders agents may use, and the access for each. See [Trusted folders](https://docs.xpander.ai/desktop/folders.md). Also shows **Browser control** with **Ask each time** when you allowed the browser **Always**. |
| **Shell & files** | Your own switches for files, shell commands, the shell's network, browser control and moving work to the cloud and back, and where agents work first. See [Your settings and the policy](https://docs.xpander.ai/desktop/your-controls.md). |
| **Computer control** | Turn computer control on or off for this Mac, and the macOS permissions it needs. Shown on a Mac. See [Computer control](https://docs.xpander.ai/desktop/computer-control.md). |

## App

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **General** | **Open at login** starts Omni when you log in. **New chat shortcut** opens a new chat from anywhere: **Cmd+Shift+Space** by default, or another shortcut, or **Off**. |
| **Notifications** | **Notifications** turns the app's native notifications on or off (on by default). **Save new files to this Mac automatically** saves files an agent left only in the cloud into your [folder for new files](https://docs.xpander.ai/desktop/folders.md#the-folder-for-new-files), without asking (on by default). Existing files are never replaced. |
| **About** | The installed version. Updates download on their own; when one is ready, About shows it with **Restart to update**. |

## Connection

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **xpander address** | The xpander this app uses. **Change** signs you out first, then connects this computer to the new address. Reads **Set by your organization** when your company manages it. |
| **Sign out** | Signs you out of the app on this computer. Your trusted folders stay. |
