The Omni sidekick is a floating chat window with Omni, opened from the Omni button, the animated Omni mark in the bottom corner of the screen. It sees the page you are on, so you can ask about what is in front of you without copying it into a message. Admins can also ask it to change organization settings; every change waits for your confirmation.

Where the sidekick appears

Open, resize and close

Click the Omni button to open the sidekick. On a phone it opens full screen.
  • Drag the window’s corner to resize it.
  • Open full page continues the same conversation on Omni’s own page.
  • New chat starts a new conversation.
  • Collapse closes the window. The conversation stays; click the Omni button to come back to it.
You can drag the Omni button to another spot. Hide Omni on the button hides it. To bring it back, press ⌘J (Ctrl+J on Windows and Linux), or open Omni from the command palette. The sidekick keeps its conversation when you refresh or move to another page. The conversation carries over when you move between Xpander Chat and Platform in the same browser.

What Omni sees on the page

With each message, the sidekick sends Omni what you are looking at: the page, the item you selected, and the rows visible on screen with their values. Omni uses that to answer, for example “why is this agent’s spend up this week?” on an agent’s usage page, or “who in this list has not signed in yet?” on the members page. Chips above the composer show what will be sent with your next message. Remove a chip to leave that item out of the next message. API key values and secret values are never sent. For those, Omni sees only names, key prefixes and when they were last used.

Change organization settings (admins)

An admin can ask the sidekick to read and change organization settings. Omni can do only what your Platform role allows, so a request outside your role is answered with what you can do instead.

Confirm every change

Omni never applies a change on its own. For each change it shows a confirm card with the setting as it is now and as it will be after the change. Changes that are risky, such as removing a member or revoking a key, are marked on the card. Nothing applies until you click Confirm. Click Cancel to leave the setting as it is. Each confirmed change is recorded in Audit log under your name, the same as a change made on the settings page. See Audit and debugging. The same admin actions are available from an MCP client such as Claude Code, with a two-step confirm. See Admin actions over MCP.
